The number of callouts is based on how incidents are reported to Police.
The number of incidents is based of Police assessment of the event. During
the response, an incident can be revised to more accurately reflect what
Police believe occurred.

Pleasenote that above figures are publicly available from
[1]policedata.nz.Specifically, they are available from the Demand and
Activity Report.

In 2018, Policeintroduced a new database that improved the counting of
volumes of Police demand and activities. The above figures and the Demand
and Activity Report on policedata.nz are based on this new database.

Thesource article mentioned in your request was based on the previous
database. Therefore, the figures from the article may not necessarily be
the same.

questions regarding this data, please feel free to contact me via
[2][email address].

You havethe right, under section 28 (3) of the Official Information Act
