Dear Louise,
Can you advise re the delay in the Commission's response to my OIA reqest for a copy of the Levy submissions (due by 27 Feb). On the 1st March you advised that I could expect a response "shortly". It is now the 6th March and I am now unsure what "shortly" means.
Yours sincerely,
Alan Thompson
From: Alan Thompson
The Hon Paul Swain
Chair
New Zealand Fire Service Commission,
Dear Sir,
I write to seek your advice as to why I have not received a response to my request for copies of the submissions received on the proposed increases to the Fire Service Levy. The guidelines for response are "within 20 working days". With the 20 days well past now I have asked twice now when I can expect a response. I recieved a "shortly" response to the first query but did not receive a response to my second request when "shortly" turned into 2 weeks.
I am only left with one option and that is to take this matter to the Ombudsman. I would prefer of course not to do this.
Could you please advise by return the status of my overdue request and when I can expect to receive this information.
Alan Thompson
