Joshua Grainger made this Official Information request to Law Commission

The request was successful.

From: Joshua Grainger

Dear Law Commission,

The Law Commission's review of the Official Information Act was released yesterday. I would like to request under the Official Information Act all submissions made to the Law Commission on the review of the Official Information Act.

Feel free to contact me if you wish me to clarify my request. I would like a response delivered in electronic form via email.

Yours faithfully,

Joshua Grainger

Hi Joshua Grainger,

We hope to put the submissions on the Law Commission's website in the near future. There are nearly 100 submissions, not all provided electronically to us. I will let you know when the submissions are available on the website.

Thank you for your interest,

Dear Margaret Thompson,

Just to clarify, is this a refusal of my request under s18(d) of the Official Information Act, or has a decision on my request yet to be made?

Yours sincerely,

Joshua Grainger

Joshua,
Oh dear total misunderstanding. We have certainly decided to provide you with the submissions, but I only implied this in my response to you.
As we already intend to put the submissions on the website and expect them to be up there within the timeframe of your individual request, I thought this would be convenient for you. I understood that you prefer to access the submissions electronically.
Please let me know if there are problems for you with this approach to your request.

Dear Margaret,

Thank you for clarifying the situation, you've been very helpful.

I am aware some people were under the impression that the Law Commission wouldn't be releasing the submissions or would be charging for them, and so started lodging OIA requests with public authorities for their submissions, so I am sure there are others apart from myself that are very glad to hear the Law Commission is releasing the submissions publicly.

Yours sincerely,

Joshua Grainger
