Dear New Zealand Police,

I have a question about drink driving. In the most recent calendar year for which you have information available, could you please advise:

1. How many breath alcohol screening tests were conducted.
2. How many breath alcohol screening tests resulted in indications that the driver might be over the limit.
3. How many evidential breath alcohol tests were conducted.
4. How many evidential breath alcohol tests returned a result that indicated the driver was over the applicable limit.
5. How many drivers over the breath alcohol limit requested a blood alcohol test be conducted.
6. How many blood tests returned results indicating the person was over the applicable blood alcohol limit, and how many were returned indicating the person was under the applicable blood alcohol limit.

If, where appropriate, the statistics could distnguish between those who are subject to a higher limit, and those subject to lower (e.g. youth) limits, that would be appreciated.
