Development and Testing of Kiosk Solution
Gavin Millar made this Official Information request to Ministry of Social Development
Waiting for an internal review by Ministry of Social Development of their handling of this request.
From: Gavin Millar
Dear Ministry of Social Development,
Recently a major privacy breach has been discovered which has been caused by poor security within the W&I Kiosks. I am interested in whether the setup and testing of these kiosks was done by Ministry staff or by external contractors as well as what precautions were taken to avoid issues such as the one now coming to light.

As such please provide all relevant documentation about the design of the kiosk solution, testing of the kiosks, the investigation of the previous privacy breach mentioned by Marc Warner and the subsequent redesign. I am most interested in how such a simple hole was left in these kiosks, especially given that similar issues were seen previously. Also, any documents around the issue of contractors vs. internal staff for this project.
Yours faithfully,
Gavin Millar
