    Dear Department of Conservation,
I would like to know how many kilometres of your track network will need to be, or have been, upgraded due to kauri dieback.
How many kilometres of your track network are you closing permanently due to kauri dieback ?
How much are you spending on kauri dieback research ?
Yours faithfully,

    Dear Leigh Romanos,
                                    Thank you for the information.
The answer to question 2 looks extraordinary large. Would you please confirm that DOC have indeed closed one hundred and four thousand two hundred and fifty three km of track due to kauri dieback. This must be a very large proportion of your total track network.
Yours sincerely,
t Austen

    Dear T. Austin

Please find attached an amended letter.

Thank you for your query regarding the distance of track network closed as
you correctly identified.  We apologise this was a typographical error and
the figure was in fact 104.2 kilometres.

Kind regards
Hilary Aikman
