Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,
Please could you provide me with details around A:

Request for information on the CopyrightActReview process.

I have had contact with Bryce Wigodsky and others on this, they have been extremely helpful and able. I would just like to know what and who is specifically connected to this review. historically and currently. feel this is the best and upfront way to garner such details.

I have found there are a few great unknowns with how the cabinet paper and review overview documents have been prepared. Mainly the omissions not covered within those documents
.Specifically what other Ministries or outside partners or anyone that has some oversight, are regularly updated with information and progress and anyone or everyone else who has a 'connected' interest to this process.

Yours faithfully,

Nick Hambly

Dear Nick

Thank you for your below email of 28 March to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment requesting information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). I have been assigned to respond to your request.

In order for me to provide the information you're looking for in a helpful manner for you, I would appreciate if you could please be more specific with your request. It is possible that the Ministry may refuse your request under section 18(f) of the Official Information Act - that the information requested cannot be made available without substantial collation or research - unless you can narrow your request. For example, whether there are any specific documents you are looking for and/or specific date ranges and/or who is meant by your references to "outside partners or anyone that has some oversight" and "anyone and everyone else who has a 'connected' interest".

Please note that any clarification or amendment of a request is considered to be a new request for the purposes of calculating the maximum statutory timeframe for response.

Kind regards

Dear Bryce Wigodsky,

To clarify what information I am after I first need to ensure and declare that I wish to not receive any personal information that may identify that person. I specifically am after details concerning how and for what means has this and will this process become aware to other parties.

a. When creating the Cabinet approval paper, MBIE would have needed to full a study to assist the Minister with the requirement to notify cabinet if any or other pieces of legislation are deemed to potentially be affected by the review process. The Minister notified None. So would like to know how and by what means did this answer become justified.
a.
i. Are any non-ministry staff a party to this review-other than those who have participated in formal information sharing undertaken and stipulated in the Review Guidelines.
ii. The foundational documents required for this Review process. Was it strictly by internal process?. if not by whom (title ie. Contractor or lobbyist) and how was such information transferred to the team tasked with this Review process.

b.
i. Would like any framework or guidelines/documents/internal memo's on this process.
ii. The titles of the parties took part in this process.
iii. Any outside parties eg from which ministry or outside organisation did they belong to.
iv. If it was an external party by which authority where they deemed as required to be a party to.
v. Did or does this external party maintain any consideration for the passage of the Review.

c. After initial Submissions-
i. which other Ministries or external parties are part of this stage of the process.
ii.What guiding principles or defined statements are associated with these 'external parties'
iii. The defined 'next stage'

d.
i. What and how does the review ensure International Treaty obligations are followed? Are these obligations a living consideration? If so, what and how does this dialogue manifest itself.

Here to assist further with any clarity if needed.

Yours sincerely,

Nicholas Hambly
