Please provide the following information for domestic RRAS category applicants to the Medical (MBChB) program at UoA for the last six years (2014-19) entry:

(1) Number of RRAS seats available each year,
(2) Number of RRAS seats filled each year (how many FY and how many graduates)
(3) Number of RRAS applicants (how many FY and how many graduates),
(4) Lowest GPA for successful RRAS applicants (for both FY and graduate),
(5) Highest GPA for unsuccessful RRAS applicants (for both FY and graduate),
(6) Interview GPA cutoff for RRAS applicants (for both FY and graduate).

Dear Rachel,

 

I refer to your request of 21 March 2019 for information on domestic RRAS
applicants to the MBChB programme at the University of Auckland for
2014-2019. The information requested for 2014-2018 is publicly available
on the FYI website, and your request for it is refused under section 18(d)
of the Official Information Act. Your information request for 2019 is
addressed below.

 

(1) Number of RRAS seats available each year,
Up to 52.

(2) Number of RRAS seats filled each year (how many FY and how many
graduates),
47 (FY 26 Grad 21)

(3) Number of RRAS applicants (how many FY and how many graduates),

83 (FY 42, Grad 21)

 

(4) Lowest GPA for successful RRAS applicants (for both FY and graduate),

Exact GPAs for individual students are not provided for privacy reasons.
The successful RRAS FY applicant who had the lowest GPA had a GPA in the
6.50-6.99 range. The successful RRAS Graduate applicant who had the lowest
GPA also had a GPA in the 6.50-6.99 range. This is a partial refusal under
s 9(2)(a) of the OIA.

 

(5) Highest GPA for unsuccessful RRAS applicants (for both FY and
graduate),

Exact GPAs for individual students are not provided for privacy reasons.
The unsuccessful RRAS FY applicant who had the highest GPA had a GPA in
the 7.00-7.49 range. The unsuccessful RRAS Graduate applicant who had the
highest GPA also had a GPA in the 7.00-7.49 range. This is a partial
refusal under s 9(2)(a) of the OIA.

 

(6) Interview GPA cutoff for RRAS applicants (for both FY and graduate).

Exact GPAs for individual students are not provided for privacy reasons.
The RRAS FY applicant with the lowest GPA to receive an interview had a
GPA in the 6.50-6.99 range. The RRAS Graduate applicant with the lowest
GPA to receive an interview had a GPA in the 6.00-6.49 range. This is a
partial refusal under s 9(2)(a) of the OIA.
