The Ballard of Maddog Quin

Brett Mills made this Official Information request to Ministry for Culture and Heritage

The request was partially successful.

From: Brett Mills

Dear Ministry for Culture and Heritage,
Can I please request the contents of the advice and all notes supplied to the Minister, Maggie Barry on or about 12 October 2015 as mentioned in an email from Kathrine Baxter to me dated 28/10 /2015 pertaining to the issues I had raised in a letter to her about the NZFC and in particular a short film tilted "The Ballard of Maddog Quinn".
.
Below is an excerpt from the email.

"Just to update you on where your enquiry is at:
· We sent the papers you provided across to the Ministry (for Culture and Heritage) to provide background information on the issues you raised. This is the usual process with complaints of this nature.
· Last week we received advice back from the Ministry which I have provided to the Minister for her to consider along with the papers you had previously sent."

Yours faithfully,

Brett Mills

Ministry for Culture and Heritage

Dear Brett

I refer to your request below under the Official Information Act 1982
(OIA) of 7 March 2019.

The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our
decision.

This extension is required because consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.

This extension has been made under section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA.  You can
expect to receive a response to your request by 7 May 2019.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
[1]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or free phone 0800 802 602.

Kind regards
