Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your OIA request regarding type of ingredients, percentages,
costs, suppliers, brand name and country of origin of ingredients. The
information is commercially confidential. Orillion competes with another
New Zealand prefeed bait and 1080 bait manufacturer and this is a further
reason the information in your request is commercially confidential.

Section 9, subsection 2 of the Official Information Act 1982 provides for
information to be withheld for a number of reasons and Section 18 covers
grounds for refusal of requests. Your request for information on the type
of ingredients, percentages, costs, suppliers, brand name and country of
origin of ingredients for 1080 prefeed and bait and for brodifacoum from
Orillion is refused because, by virtue of Section 9 of the Act, we believe
there is good reason to withhold the information.

Thank you

Dear T.Benseman

The components in the bait mainly originate from plants and come from New
Zealand suppliers. The components are not certified as organic. There are
no GMO's in the baits.

Dear Enquiries,

Can you please clarify which country this sugar comes from, and which company grows it and exports it to New Zealand. You are supplying this product to be spread into New Zealands pristine native forests, we have the right to know EXACTLY what is in it and as a tax payer funded bunch you are required to answer truthfully to tax payers.

Thanks,

T. Benseman

Dear T.Benseman

Please see the earlier email (4 February) regarding commercial
confidentiality.

The product our suppliers provide meets New Zealand import regulations. The
sugar is refined and comes from one of New Zealand's major sugar importers
who sources sugar from various counties and sells it in many different
forms. The sugar is the same as, and cannot be differentiated from the
sugar sold in supermarkets or bought wholesale by confectionary, biscuit,
cake and stock feed manufacturers across New Zealand.

New Zealand has no pristine native forests because they are continuously
being ravaged by deer, pigs, goats, possums, rats, stoats, mice and other
introduced mammals - but 1080 is making a huge difference in favour of
native plants and animals. There is an excellent paper by Dr Jan Wright, the
Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment from 2012 - 2016,
https://www.pce.parliament.nz/media/1294... that
you may find worthwhile as it covers the benefits of 1080 and it's use in
our native forests . This was her second five year term as the Commissioner
for the Environment.

Thanks
