Information concerning Parks and Recreation brochures.
Karen Anderson made this Official Information request to Dunedin City Council
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Dunedin City Council should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Karen Anderson
Dear Dunedin City Council,
The report of the Chairperson of the Dog Control Working Party states:
"The Parks & Recreation team have included information in their pamphlets about accessibility to dogs. Examples provided below: ..."
One example of the pamphlets deals with Bethunes Gully and shows a picture of a dog on leash and reinforces that with the words “on leash in the picnic area”.
Bethunes Gully is an area in which dog access was changed on 27 June 2016 without compliance with the consultation procedure. However, even the unlawful changes permit dogs off-leash on the track.
Accordingly I have been requested by members of the Dunedin Dog Bylaw Group to ask:
(a) Why the pamphlets have been amended so they provide incorrect information.
(b) How many amended pamphlets have been produced, and how many distributed, to date.
(c) The costs of amending and printing the amended pamphlets.
(d) Whether the costs have been funded from money received under the Dog Control Act 1996.
Yours faithfully,
Karen Anderson
