Any correspondence and documentation regarding the safety features of buses
Hugh Davenport made this Official Information request to Wellington Regional Council
This request has been withdrawn by the person who made it. There may be an explanation in the correspondence below.
From: Hugh Davenport
Dear Wellington Regional Council,
I would like to request any correspondence and documentation about the safety features on Metlink buses, including any documentation showing Metlink meeting regulatory requirements or not.
Specifically, I would be interested in anything to do with vertical bars (stanchions) placement on buses, horizontal bar placements on buses, grab handle placements on buses. Documentation about whether Metlink meets the requirements for these safety features as laid out in https://www.nzta.govt.nz/assets/resource... section 4.3 and 4.4 would be good.
Also any documentation, correspondence or discussion about installation or removal of any of these safety features.
In addition, any records from the bus numbered 2485 about these safety features would be beneficial for this request.
General summary of that document is:
- Vertical bars should be placed on every row alternating left and right except in priority seating areas
- Horizontal bars should be placed at no more than 1900mm from the floor, or have grab handles attached that hang below 1900mm.
Yours faithfully,
Hugh Davenport
