Status and progress of DOC/anti-1080 agreement re trapping of Kaitake Range, Egmont NP
Sue Boyde made this Official Information request to Department of Conservation
The request was successful.
From: Sue Boyde
Dear Department of Conservation,
In 2016 the press reported that DOC had agreed with Chris Wilkes and 100% Pure Taranaki (an anti-1080 group) that if the group could keep pest numbers in the Kaitake Range below agreed limits, the range would not be included in the next 1080 drop (then expected for 2019).

Please inform me
1) Is this agreement and trapping project still in operation? and if the answer is yes, then
2) What are the pest species agreed to be controlled by the group, and the agreed limits (please specify the type of monitoring measurement)?
3) What is the date of the most recent monitoring, and what levels were found for each pest species?
4) When will the final monitoring series be carried out, that will decide whether the Kaitake Range will be included in the 1080 drop?
Yours faithfully,
Sue Boyde
