Policy measures to mitigate climate change and transition to a low emissions economy

Dr Terrence Loomis made this Official Information request to James Shaw

Response to this request is long overdue. By law James Shaw should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Dr Terrence Loomis

Dear James Shaw,

Addressing climate change and achieving New Zealand's NDC's under the Paris Agreement, as you have publically stated, is an issue that cuts across most government portfolios and ministries.

I would like to request an inventory of all policy measures and programmes the Government currenty has in place to mitigate climage change emissions, encourage energy efficiency, promote uptake of renewables, reduce dependency on fossil fuels and transition to a low emissions economy.

Yours faithfully,

Dr Terrence Loomis

Dear Terrence,

Good to speak on the phone this afternoon.

Many thanks again for your email to the Hon James Shaw, Minister for Climate Change, Minister of Statistics, Associate Minister of Finance, and Green Party Co-leader.

As discussed, I wanted to confirm that your email will be processed as ministerial correspondence, rather than a request under the Official Information Act (OIA).

I have therefore forwarded it to the Private Secretary for the Minister's Climate Change portfolio, who will follow up again in due course.

In the meantime, if you require any further assistance from our office, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Kind regards,

Dave
