On 10 April 2018, DPMC received an OIA request from me regarding the Prime Minister's statement in March that the Government had a plan for weaning New Zealand off fossil fuels. In my OIA I requested a copy of that plan.

On 24 April 2018, I received the attached response from DPMC referring my OIA request to you. According to guidelines in respect of such requests, it is now more than 21 working days since my OIA request was forwarded to your office and is now late. I would appreciate an indication as to when I am likely receive a reply.

Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act),
received on 10 April 2018.

You requested:
"On 22 March 2018, Stuf News published an opinion piece by the Prime Minister
titled 'We're already planning for fossi fuls trasition.' In that piece Ms Arder
stated "We have a plan for weaning New Zealand of fossi fuels and it has a
timeline that stretches out nearly 30 years into the future." Under the Offcial Information Act, I would like to request a copy of the plan to which the Prime Minister was referrng.

If such a plan does not exist or is not ready for public release, I would like to
request copies of emai correspondence, briefings and Cabint papers regardng
the development of a plan to wean New Zealand of fossil fuels over the next
thirty years."

I believe that the information you have requested is more closely connected to the
functions of the Minister of Energy and Resources, Hon Dr Megan Woods. Accordingly,
I have decided under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act to transfer your request to the Minister
of Energy and Resources.
