The request was successful.
From: Steve Glassey
Dear Ministry for Primary Industries,
At today’s animal management conference held in Wellington, a representative from MPI claimed the SPCA has 4000 volunteers ready to respond to disasters.
What information is held to substantiate this number of emergency response volunteers stated in particular being engaged in emergencies, out of area/hours response and meeting safety and other emergency related training requirements such as USAR, flood safety, rural fire safety, working at heights, CIMS etc
Yours faithfully,
Steve Glassey

Dear Andrew Barrowclough,
Thank you for the reply.
From multiple witnesses, she did not state they could be used across all phases of emergency management. However, there is little benefit arguing the details further. It is important that officials represent matters fairly and accurately, and I trust this has been an important lesson.
Yours sincerely,
Steve Glassey
