Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,

I am seeking the following information for research purposes at the University of Auckland.

Part One
A breakdown of the number of persons deported to any of the Pacific Islands in the past 5 years (excluding US territories) following a conviction (whether or not that person was also incarcerated in New Zealand).

Part Two
A breakdown of the number of persons deported to any of the Pacific Islands in the past 5 years (excluding US territories) following the presence of 'new character information' (separate from those deported for criminal behavior in New Zealand) .

Part Three
A breakdown of the number of persons deported to any of the Pacific Islands in the past 5 years (excluding US territories) following a conviction OR on the basis of 'new character information' that had a known link to gang activity at the time of deportation.
