Dear Matthew,

Further to your information request of 16 January 2018, in respect of logs
of bathroom cleaning at Hamilton Transport Centre, I am now able to
provide Hamilton City Council's response.

You requested:

I am requesting all Records/Logs regarding cleaning of the bathrooms at
Hamilton Transport Center in Downtown Hamilton

Our response:

Cleaning services at the Hamilton Transport Centre are provided by United
Cleaning Services Ltd.   Until April 2017, cleaning of all toilet/bathroom
facilities at the Centre was carried out on a cyclic basis at set hours.
Those hours are still advertised on the toilet doors (see attached
photograph).   However in order to provide a more responsive service,
Council, working closely with United Cleaning Services, introduced the
trialling of an onsite daytime Custodian to work in conjunction with
morning and evening routine cleaning services.    The trial is still
running and the permanent adoption of the Custodian role is currently
under discussion.   The Custodian checks the state of the toilets at least
4-5 times per day, tops up consumables as needed, removes rubbish and spot
cleans toilets and basins.   Outside of these checks, the Custodian is
called upon if individual toilets need attention.    While logs of each
servicing are not kept, cleaning schedules are followed – these are
summarised below.

The routine cleaning staff work from 6.00–8.00 am and 4.00–10.00 pm.
