Hi Aaron,
I’m emailing regarding your recent OIA request on referrals to the Kari
Centre.
Our referral and appointment processes mean some the data you have
requested isn’t as meaningful as it could be, and we can provide more
detail which I think will be helpful. I’ve made some notes by your
original request below.
Let me know if you’re happy to proceed along these lines, or if anything
isn’t clear.
Cheers,
Rachel
For the last 12 months can you please provide a breakdown of referrals to
the KARI Centre as below, and the number of appointments actually attended
for each case
Referrals received
Open cases –if a case is opened on the last day of the year, it will be
recorded as open (although there would not be time to schedule any
appointments). I suggest we provide the date each case was opened so that
you have visibility in case there is a cluster of cases opened at the end
of the 12 month period.
Closed cases
The attendance categories below are overlapping (e.g. a case with zero
visits would be in all four categories), so to avoid confusion and ensure
you have accurate data to work with, we will provide the exact number of
visits for each individual case, rather than the range. That gives you
more flexibility in how you group the data.
No attendance
<2 visits
<5 visits
<10 visits
Number of home visits for reporting period – as well as visits to patients
homes, we carry out visits at schools and in other community settings.
Would you like these grouped together or presented in two categories: home
visits, and visits at schools and other community settings?

Hi Aaron,
My apologies for not coming back to you.
I've been advised that some additional checks were run to validate the data, so the response took longer than anticipated. These are complete and we are aiming to get the information to you tomorrow.
Best,
Rachel
