I am conducting research into the use of postal voting in local government elections, and I wish to gather data on postboxes available across different time periods. Therefore, can I request:

1. The number of postboxes within the current Auckland boundaries available for use in the 1989 local elections, and

2. The number of postboxes within the current Auckland boundaries available for use in the 2016 local elections

I refer to your request below, and can advise the following:

There were 520 street receivers in the greater Auckland region at the end of 2016.

Unfortunately our records don't go back as far as 1989, so we're unable to provide any data on street receivers available during the 1989 local election.
