IPT Statistics

Ryan S made this Official Information request to Ministry of Justice

The request was successful.

From: Ryan S

Dear Ministry of Justice,

On the Second of July this year I made a request to your Ministry regarding IPT Statistics

In your response by Jacquelyn Shannon Reference: 63282 you stated that you would not be releasing the information to Questions 1-3 of my questions as it was withheld under Section 18(d) of the OIA act.
You would not release questions 4-6 for reasons which I accept.

I note that it has now been over 4 months since that request was made and the information has not been made public in regards to questions 1-3. You appear to have failed in your duty to uphold your obligations under the Official Information Act.

I once again request this information in accordance with the Act. I trust that the Ministry will act appropriately this time or I will forward this issue to the Ombudsman.

"In a document published on your website regarding the Statistics of the Immigration Protection Tribunal(IPT) called IPT-2016-Annual-Report on page 14 of that report it has a table breaking down the various types of appeals and outcomes it has made judgement on in the past year. I request the following information in regard to this years statistics

1. In the past 12 months how many appeals in total have been Declined, Allowed and Referred to the Minister

2. In the past 12 months how many appeals have been Declined, Allowed and Referred to the Minister for the Residence Category

3. In the past 12 months how many appeals have been Declined, Allowed and Referred to the Minister for the Refugee & Protection Category"

Thank You

Yours faithfully,

Ryan S
