Client Safety

Gregory Soar made this Official Information request to Ministry of Social Development

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Ministry of Social Development should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Gregory Soar

Dear Ministry of Social Development,

Every time one vists a WINZ MSD office it is stated on signage, website etc that staff and client safety is important and was reason for recent changes over last few years.

On visiting these offices, Whanganui in particular, I see how staff have cubicles, a clearly marked and pathway to exit in an emergency whilst there is no advice for clients present should an incudent occur.

What are the security arrangements for clients present if an emergency safety incident should occur in any WNZ MSD office.?

What are the security arrangements for clients present if an emergency safety incident should occur in the Whanganui office?

Why are these important informations not made clear to clients in any way at all?

I hope you can shed some light on my three questions above. Currently WINZ MSD are treating clients worse than scum and it is evidenced by..where are the client safety protocols for when another person instigates a safety issue.....the clients seem to be hearded like sheep with not one instruction in regard issues raised in the request.

Yours faithfully,

Gregory Soar
