2. How many Resident Visa’s declined under Skilled Migrant Category based on the offer of employment from 2degrees Mobile Limited as Customer Service Representative and applied from Christchurch location

Dear *OIA,

Please replace Customer Service Representative in my request as Customer Care Representative/Customer Service Representative as I am not sure how the Immigration officer enters the role name in Records. Thanks

Dear Cat Beach,

Many thanks for your response.

I understand the information relating to the dates that their applications were submitted and approved is being withheld by INZ under 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act 1982, in that the release of this specific information, could lead to the identification of those individuals in question.Hence I withdraw the information asking for the dates of application and approval.

However, the information I asked mainly was “How many Resident Visa’s approved under Skilled Migrant Category based on the offer of employment from 2degrees Mobile Limited as Customer Care Representative and applied against the ANZSCO Code 313112”. The Answer should be a “number” and there is no question of identifying the individual as there are more than 100 Customer Care Representatives including me in Christchurch office itself.

Same for my second Question “How many Resident Visa application declined applied under Skilled Migrant Category based on the offer of employment from 2degrees Mobile Limited as Customer Care Representative and applied against the ANZSCO code 313112” The Answer should be a “number” and there is no question of identifying the individual as there are more than 100 Customer Care Representatives including me even in Christchurch office itself.

If that information cannot be released please explain according to which rule it's being withheld (If that is 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act 1982 please explain Rule 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act 1982)

Yours sincerely,

Vipin

Dear Vipin,

Thank you for your email. As you will have been informed from my out of office message, I have been on leave since the 2nd of October and have only just returned to the office, hence my delayed response.

In regards to your questions below, the response letter indicates that in our assessment the release of the information you have requested could lead to the identification of those individuals in question. The withholding of information for this reason is covered by the provisions set out in 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act. The Official Information Act can be accessed via the following link.

http://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/publi...

You have indicated in your email below that there are 100 Customer Care Representatives working in the Christchurch office of 2Degrees Mobile Limited; this in itself is a relatively small group of individuals. If you then remove those individuals who are identifiable as New Zealanders (and therefore will not have applied for a visa) then the resulting sub set of individuals will substantially further reduce.

We do fully appreciate that your request for information is important, however the protection of other individual's privacy is also paramount.

Kind regards

Catherine Beach
