Information sharing protocol with police

Alex Harris made this Official Information request to Ministry of Social Development

The request was successful.

From: Alex Harris

Dear Ministry of Social Development,

Radio New Zealand reported today that MSD had been accused of a mass privacy breach after sharing information on victims of abuse in state care with police ("Ministry accused of breaching abuse claimants' privacy", RNZ, 6 Sep 2017). The story mentions that 'The ministry signed a protocol with police in May 2016 about sharing information". I would like to request the following information under the OIA:

* A copy of any information-sharing protocol MSD has with the police.

I would prefer to receive an electronic response. Queries about this request will be automatically forwarded to me by the fyi.org.nz website.

With regards to s12 of the OIA, I am an NZ citizen and in NZ.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Harris
