1.       Emails, written communications or notes of meetings you have had
with PEPANZ representatives and/or PEPANZ member companies about their
policy briefing since it was released

2.       Policy papers or Cabinet papers produced addressing specific
recommendations or consultations with PEPANZ or industry representatives
regarding the briefing paper.

So that the Minister can respond to your request, can you please advise:

·         the briefing paper you are specifically referring to (perhaps
you could confirm it is this one: [1]http://www.pepanz.com/dmsdocument/14)

·         whether the second part of your request:

o   is for papers/consultations that were a result of/in response to the
briefing paper’s recommendations or

o   is for papers/consultations that informed the setting of the
recommendations through consultation with PEPANZ.

In order for the Minister to be able to respond to your request in a
timely manner consistent with her obligations under the Act, I ask that
you come back to me by Tuesday 5 September 2017.  Depending on your
response, the Minister may consider extending the timeframe or refusing
the request under the relevant section of the Act.

 

I also note that, under section 15(1AA) of the Act, the revised request
may be treated as a new request for the purpose of calculating the time
period for response under the Act.

Dear Minister of Energy and Resources,

 

On 8 March 2017 the Petroleum Exploration and Production Association of
New Zealand (PEPANZ) released a policy briefing entitled "Advancing New
Zealand's Petroleum Sector".    Among eighteen recommendations, the
document called on the next Government to review fiscal policy settings,
invest in further geological studies of New Zealand’s petroleum basins and
establish a dedicated royalties fund to allow future generations to
benefit from New Zealand’s mineral wealth.

 

Under the provisions of the Official Information Act, I would like to
request the following information:

 

1)  Emails, written communications or notes of meetings you have had with
PEPANZ representatives and/or PEPANZ member companies about their policy
briefing since it was released.

 

2)  Policy papers or Cabinet papers produced addressing specific
recommendations or consultations with PEPANZ or industry representatives
regarding the briefing paper.
