Dear Valerie,

Thank you for your request for further detail on Trespass notices.

We have processed your request and have discussed this matter with the
appropriate departments. I understand from our experts, the following part
of your request is of a substantial nature which will prove difficult to
provide in its current form:

“A copy of any communication between Auckland Council and NZ Police
regarding trespassing of individuals or the Trespass Act.”

Please be advised that there are multiple departments within the council
have contacted NZ Police directly to trespass individuals, based on the
information provided in our last response to you, the following
departments have issued trespass notices within the past six months:

•        Libraries

•        Leisure

•        Cemetery

•        Park Services

•        Corporate Property

•        Arts, Community and Events

Identifying this information necessitates a search through a large
quantity of information; in other words, we believe an IS search of our
email systems is required in order to identify relevant correspondence.
As it stands, we would have to set the search parameters to anyone within
all of the above departments, which would return a substantial amount of
information. Under these parameters and a specified timeframe, it is
likely that your request will take more than four hours of work, according
to our charging policy, our time to identify and collate the requested
information will be charged at $38 per half hour after the  first four
hours (further information on our charging policy is attached), otherwise
this part of your request will be refused under section 17(f) of the Local
Government Official Information and Meetings act 1987 (LGOIMA), due to
needing substantial collation and research.

Can you please firstly identify the overall timeframe for the request and
then refine your request by:

•        Restricting the scope of the request by focussing on a particular
department or a narrower timeframe; and/or

•        Withdrawing this part of your request.

If you would like to make a refinement please let me know by Wednesday, 9
August and we will reconsider this part of your request. Otherwise it is
likely this part of your request will be refused under section 17(f)  of
the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987.

Please contact me on 09 301 0101 if you have any further questions.
