Dear Hugh,
Thank you for your email of 13 May 2017 requesting the following
information under the Official Information Act 1982 (‘the Act’):
I would be grateful for sight of a list of recipients of the National
Party’s expenditure in the 2011 and 2014 election campaigns.
The information that you have requested is available on our website. For
the 2011 general election it can be found at
[1]http://www.elections.org.nz/events/past-...
and for the 2014 general election it can be found here:
[2]http://www.elections.org.nz/events/2014-....
These expense returns only record the election advertising expenses that
registered parties are required to report on according to Part 6AA of the
Electoral Act 1993. There is no provision in the Electoral Act that
requires parties to declare any other election expenses.
You have the right under section 28(3) of the Act to complain to the
Ombudsman if you are not satisfied with the response to your request.
Yours sincerely,
Tracey Steel
