Apologies for the delay in responding to you.

 

Your request for information regarding Annual Migrant Arrivals to New
Zealand, was part transferred to Stats NZ from Ministry of Business,
Innovation and Employment on 16 April 2017, under section 14(b)(i) of the
Official Information Act 1982.

 

We have answered the part transfer as below, confirmed the original
numbers of New Zealanders , and corrected the total.  

 

Annual Migrant Arrivals to New Zealand 31 March 2017

·         New Zealanders (citizens of NZ): 31,995

·         Australians (citizens of Australia): 6,124

·         Other: Z

Total:  129,518

 

I am informed that the ‘other’ category (Z)  can be calculated by
differencing the total using the number for refugees as supplied by MBIE.
