Request for Information from Port Hills Fires
Kieran made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Kieran to read recent responses and update the status.
      From: Kieran

    Dear New Zealand Police,
I am requesting a full record of all phone calls that were made to all emergency services between 5am Wednesday 15th February 2017 to 10pm Wednesday 15th February 2017 in Christchurch City, namely around the suburb of Cashmere, and especially from landlines or cell phones on Worsleys Road, Cashmere.
The Rural fire services and Christchurch City fire service have asked for all records to be released as part of an inquiry into the Port Hills Fires. Unfortunately I lost my own house in the fire and I am starting an inquiry on behalf of the residence who lost their homes into the reaction times of emergency services the day we lost our homes. The times of calls to 111 will help us with our inquiry
Yours faithfully,
Kieran

    Dear Kieran

I refer to your request of 23 March 2017 for a full record of all phone
calls that were made to all emergency services between 5am and 10pm on
Wednesday 15 February. May I first say how sorry we are to read about the
 loss of your home.

All 111 emergency calls for Ambulance/Fire Service and NZ Police go
through to the SPARK initial call answering point (ICAP) who handle the
initial call and then pass it on to the relevant emergency service.
Police has contacted SPARK on your behalf and they inform us that there
were 5055 111 calls offered to the ICAP between 0500-2200 hours on the
Wednesday 15th February 2017. They also advise that there is no breakdown
 readily available by location.

Police suggests you approach the NZ Fire Service with a request for any
 more specific information you require.

I am sorry that we cannot assist on this occasion and advise you of your
right to complain to the Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied with this
 response.
