Palace Poultry Accreditation

Arsh made this Official Information request to Ministry for Primary Industries

The request was successful.

From: Arsh

Dear Ministry for Primary Industries,

In an investigation by Newsroom.co.nz, it was found that Palace Poultry supplied caged eggs to Countdown under the label of "Free Range".

Progressive Enterprises, which owns Countdown gave a statement stating that "Palace Poultry has active Ministry of Primary Industry accreditation as a free range egg supplier"

Please advise -

- If the statement by Progressive Enterprises is correct with regards to Palace Poultry being accredited as a free range egg supplier by MPI?
- If yes to the above, please advise what procedure and process was followed to grant Palace Poultry the accreditation?

Yours faithfully,

Arshdeep Matharu
