This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for trainluva7 to read a recent response and update the status.

From: trainluva7

Dear KiwiRail,
im asking of the status of the cb coal wagons as a few of them have been shifted to lyttleton. does this mean they're being exported or scrapped? also will the cet coal hoppers ever see use again.
are any of the cf hoppers still intact or in use or have they all been scrapped.
i noticed a long line of cc ce and cb hoppers in a siding at moorhouse. are these stored as damaged?

MNL what is the most-likely time it would take before dxr 8022 and 8007 are retrieved from kaikoura.

DF's what are the current DFB's used on the wairapa connection service and is 7239 one of them?

Trainluva7, any DFBs that are in the North Island and that are fire supressed are on the Wairarapa service. DFB 7239 is not one of them because it is now based in the South Island along with DFB 7241. It is expected for the DXR's to be retrieved from north of Kaikoura in the next 6 to 12 months.

There are about 34 CF wagons still in service, with most probably in the South Island and the rest scrapped or in storage. The rake of CB, CC and CE coal wagons are stored, and apparently the best ones will be used on another coal train due to start soon. The CB wagons in Lyttelton are probably used for back ups and the CET could be used on the new coal train due to start soon. It was the SA/SD cars that the sales has fallen through, not the ADK/ADB DMU units.

Dear Trainluva7

We are writing in response to your Official Information Act 1982 requests
dated 9 December 2016 requesting information on the status of DFB
locomotives, various rolling stock and the Main North Line.

“I’m asking of the status of the CB coal wagons as a few of them have been
shifted to Lyttelton? Does this mean they're being exported or scrapped?

KiwiRail has no plans to scrap or export the CB Wagons at this time.

Also will the CET coal hoppers ever see use again?

KiwiRail cannot confirm if the CET coal hoppers will be used again as
their use is dependent on the production of coal.

Are any of the CF hoppers still intact or in use or have they all been
scrapped?

Intact CF hoppers are operating in the South Island.

I noticed a long line of CC CE and CB hoppers in a siding at Moorhouse are
these stored as damaged?

KiwiRail is storing CC, CE and CB hoppers at a Moorhouse siding whilst
they are not in use.

MNL what is the most-likely time it would take before DXR 8022 and 8007
are retrieved from Kaikoura?

No timeframe has been set for the retrieval of the DXR 8022 and DXR 8007.

DF's what are the current DFB's used on the Wairarapa connection service
and is 7239 one of them?

The DFB 7239 is assigned to the South Island. The following locomotives
are used for the Wairarapa connection service: DFB 7010, DFB 7200, DFB
7267, DFB 7307 and DFB 7348.

Under section 14 of the Official Information Act, KiwiRail has transferred
