Dear New Zealand Fire Service Commission,

Please advise the following:

1. Number of New Zealand Fire Service Commission (NZFSC) staff who have been trained by an external agent/consultant to collect specimens for drug testing in accordance with AS/NZS 4308.

2. Number of times external agents/consultants have been engaged by the NZFSC to undertake unannounced random alcohol and drug tests of career and volunteer firefighters for the last 12 months. Please provide a copy of the contract/agreement with the agents/consultants, and the number of firefighting personnel that have been tested in the last 12 months by external agents/consultants.

3. Number of Alcohol Breathalysers in the NZFSC's possession and which stations these are located at.

4. Number of drug testing kits in the NZFSC's possession and which stations these are located at.

5. Please provide a copy of any correspondence from the NZFSC to the New Zealand Professional Firefighters Union (NZUFU), on the subject of drug and alcohol testing, and the NZUFU's response.
