Kate Fiske made this Official Information request to Capital and Coast District Health Board

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Kate Fiske to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Kate Fiske

Dear Capital and Coast District Health Board,

I would like to request the following information under the OIA.

This request is in two parts.

Part 1
Please provide the following usage information for Kenepuru 24-hours Accident and Medical Clinic, which is currently being investigated for closure between the hours of 11pm and 7am. Note that I am only looking for data, and no information that may identify any member of public or staff.

If the information can be broken down into hourly blocks please do, otherwise the smallest available timeblock - as long as it is possible to identify usage over the 11pm to 7am time period.

- average hourly user volumes overall (24 hours) - if the data is not captured in hourly blocks, then whatever time blocks is captured (please ensure that users during the 11pm to 7am period are clearly identified).
- the breakdown of users by age group in each time block
- the breakdown of users by home location in each time block (suburb/town)
- the breakdown of users by community service card holders / not community service card holders in each time block
- any data available on number of users who are admitted or transferred to Wellington Hospital during their visit to the after hours clinic.

If the breakdown is not available in the specified time blocks then please provide it in whatever format it was used for the analysis you have carried out, and at least for users over the proposed closing times.

Please include the timeframes over which the data was captured. If the raw data is available then please include this over the preceding 12 months, if not then please provide the information requested in the bullet points in two sets, one for 'low usage months' and one for 'high usage months', or in a format whereby I can split this out myself.

Part 2
Please provide documents showing the analysis that has been carried out on expected increased workload at Wellington Hospital accident and emergency in the event of Kenepuru closure.

This includes the data itself (any modelling of the number of people expected) and documented expected impacts on
- staffing
- patient parking
- bed usage
- other key impacts that have been identified.

Where impacts have been identified, please include the documented proposed impact mitigations.

Yours faithfully,
Kate Fiske

Dear Kate

Thank you for your request for official information, received on 6 September 2016, regarding use of Kenepuru A&M.

Your request involves a large quantity of information and meeting the statutory time limit would unreasonably interfere in the operations of Capital & Coast District Health Board.

Accordingly, I advise you that we wish to extend the time limit to respond to you for a further 5 working days and my response will be provided to you on or before 11 October 2014.

You have the right, under section 28 of the Act, to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision.

Dear Andrea [CCDHB],

Thank you for this information, it is exactly what I am looking for. Regarding the following charts:

- A&M patients by hour and age group
- A&M presentations by hour and area

The numbers appear to be cumulative. Could you please advise the timeframe used to collect the data?

Yours sincerely,

Kate Fiske
