Request for MSD Studylink Survey that recommended secondary students do not require "Sussed" financial presentations

From: Mike Woods
Dear Associate Minister for Social Development, I am a careers teacher and have attempted to work with local managers regarding the cancelled MSD Studylink "Sussed" presentations in my secondary school. This was a fantastic presentation provided by MSD Studylink staff so students were informed about their financial entitlements and knew their personal obligations and responsibilities. We were promised resources - none arrived and it was all based on this survey few if any secondary students (new clients) or careers staff were involved with. We, a small group of concerned Wellington careers teachers have met unofficially with a national manager who admitted they (MSD Studylink) had "dropped the football", however nothing else has occurred to improve this situation. Tertiary costs are a real concern for students and at a time when they require more financial literacy, not less, MSD Studylink tells our students to go online. Many of our parents are none the wiser so no wonder your foot traffic to MSD Studylink branches has dropped off by 22.5% (10 August 2015).
Our organisation CATE (Careers Teachers Association) was so concerned they employed Mei Chen to write an Aide Memoire to the then Minister Hon. Chester Burrows, who was moved sideways in a reshuffle so nothing was done.
Yours faithfully,
Mike Woods
