Gary Stephenson made this Official Information request to Ministry for Primary Industries

The request was successful.

From: Gary Stephenson

Dear Ministry for Primary Industries,

I would like to know in 2015 and 2016 under sections 52 and 53 of the biosecurity act.

How many times permission was given to release the Rabbit Haemorrhagic Virus, what dates were the releases authorised to take place on, what locations were the releases authorised to take place, who or what organisation was the permission given to on each occasion and what were the reasons for the release. what risk assessments were undertaken and the results?

I would like to know in 2015 and 2016 under sections 52 and 53 of the biosecurity act how many times permission was refused to release the Rabbit Haemorrhagic Virus

Yours faithfully,

Gary P Stephenson

From: Gary Stephenson

Dear Alastair Gilby,

My previous requests when generic in nature and accordingly so were the replies. However from those requests, the replies stated that that permissions to use use the virus had to be obtained prior to release with a reasons submitted.

That being the case, there must therefore be records of requests, approvals and declines.
Therefore my question remains woefully unanswered.

How many times permission was given to release the Rabbit
Haemorrhagic Virus, what dates were the releases authorised to take
place on, what locations were the releases authorised to take
place, who or what organisation was the permission given to on each
occasion and what were the reasons for the release. what risk
assessments were undertaken and the results?

I would like to know in 2015 and 2016 under sections 52 and 53 of
the biosecurity act how many times permission was refused to
release the Rabbit Haemorrhagic Virus

My question remains.

Yours sincerely,

Gary Stephenson
