Thank you for your request of 4 April 2016, under the Official Information
Act 1982, for the following information:

 

“…clarification concerning how international qualification assessments
align with the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF). I am only
interested in your assessment of Masters and PhD level qualifications from
the UK. I would like the information to go back as far as possible please.

 

1. How many UK PhD degrees from UK universities have been accessed by
NZQA?

2. How many of these have been accepted as equivalent to NZ PhD's?

3. Can you please provide the list of universities with the assessment?

 

Specifically for Masters qualifications I would like to know;

 

1. How many UK Masters degrees from UK universities have been accessed by
NZQA?

2. How many of these have been accepted as equivalent to NZ Masters
degrees?

3. Can you please provide the list of universities with the assessment?

 

Also for PhD qualifications. A PhD is thesis which constitutes a
significant novel contribution to knowledge and is accessed by established
senior academics who have specialised in that specific academic field.
Thus how does NZQA establish PhD quality?”.

 

 

You can expect to receive a response to your request on or before 3 May
2016. You will be contacted again if there is a likelihood that this
timeframe cannot be met.

Thank you for your prompt response.

I am willing if necessary to provide a contact telephone number in order
to discuss my request. However as this is a public email I do not wish to
provide a telephone number here. 

May I please ask you to reconsider you request for a telephone
conversation? The questions were direct and should require no
clarification. Additionally, I believe the main purpose of this website is
to make the requested information available publicly and avoid duplication
of your efforts. Perhaps with that in mind this medium may be preferable?

If my request has to be discussed privately then of course I will do so
provided there is a way to give you my number privately? Again thank you
for the promptness of your initial response.
