DNA Profile database

Ms Cullen made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was successful.

From: Ms Cullen

Dear New Zealand Police,

How many DNA profiles are currently kept on a temporary database?
What is the average number of DNA profiles on the temporary database?
What is the length of time these profiles have been on this temporary database in terms of an average and shortest to longest?
How long from when charges are dropped until the DNA profile is disposed of?
How many DNA profiles have been taken for offences that were not imprisonable?
How many times have DNA samples been taken by force?
Of these forced samples were any for non imprisonable offences? If so how many?

Yours faithfully,

Emma Cullen
