Use of acupuncture read codes

Dear Accident Compensation Corporation,
For accepted ACC claims involving acupuncture treatment in the 2014/15 financial year, please provide the following categorised by read code:
- Number of accepted claims
- Cost of treatment
I understand that claims may involve more than one read code, and that they likely also involve more than one type of treatment from different treatment providers, so adding up the cost or number of claims across all read codes would be more than the total number or cost of all accepted claims involving acupuncture.
If there are any other significant confounding factors that would make it difficult to use this data as an indication of how much money is spent by ACC for acupuncture treatment of particular injury types, and how often they are treated with acupuncture under ACC, I would appreciate it if you could also clarify these.
