Advice received regarding demand for veterinarians in the future

James Wilson made this Official Information request to Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment

The request was successful.

From: James Wilson

Dear Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment,

Can you please release all advice and communications received from Massey University and it's faculty/staff, the New Zealand Veterinary Association and its staff, and any other organisations which was used to justify increasing the size of veterinary student intakes at Massey University.

(As discussed in this news story - http://www.nzva.org.nz/newsstory/new-zea... )

Can you please also release all documentation generated by your office or associated Tertiary Education offices that considers the above mentioned increase in veterinary training numbers and that eventually recommends increasing veterinarian trainee numbers.

(Please note that I do not believe any wrongdoing has taken place in your office or the Government's tertiary education commission offices)

Yours faithfully,

Dr James Wilson

Dr Wilson,

Thank you for the request under the Official Information Act 1982 as below.

The consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. Because of this, I am extending the deadline for a response under section 15A(1)(b) of the Act to 1 March 2016, although we will provide you with a response before this date if possible.

Regards,

Tony
