Advice on naming new ferries

Dear KiwiRail,
Can you please help me understand how the soon to be delivered ferries were named.
Can you please provide briefings provided to the responsible Minister which include advice the names selected, along with any other briefings or advice which suggested other names for the ferries.
Please provide relevant communications/memo/briefing when the names were agreed to.
I’m intrigued how the process words for naming ferries, so if the briefings themselves do not detail how the process works, please advise.
Also, if Kupe and Cook were not suggested by Kiwirail as potential names, please advise who suggested these names.
Please also provide any communication packs provided to the Minister to make this announcement.
