Dear Erika,
I refer to your request below. As consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a response cannot reasonably be
given within the original time limit, the University has extended the time
limit for your request by 5 working days under section 15A(1)(b) of the
OIA.
The new maximum time limit for the University’s response is 22 May 2026;
we will respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this extension.
Yours sincerely,

"1. Has the university had reported cases of these diseases in 2025 and
2026?"
No.
"2. If so, would you please share the notices from the public health
officer that correspond to each disease event?"
N/A
"3. Please share any reports to Worksafe under s199 of the Health and
Safety at Work Act 2015 for occupational disease reporting for these
diseases at any workplace at the University of Auckland."
No such reports exist for 2025 and 2026.
"4. What is the funding arrangement between the DHBs, Health NZ and/or the
Ministry of Health for free(funded) vaccinations at Student Health for
free(funded) vaccinations? I understand the Immunisation Advisory Service

vaccine dose storage, medicine administration etc"
I have been advised that:
Funded vaccines in New Zealand are funded through Vote Health and managed
by Health New Zealand/Te Whatu Ora. Health New Zealand funds and
administers the delivery of vaccines through its national immunisation
programmes. The University Health and Counselling Services (UHCS). UHCS
receives payment from Te Whatu Ora on a regular basis for the vaccines
that they have administered. No funding is received for advertising.
"5. Are the vaccinators gazetted at Student Health? Please share the
notices in the NZ Gazette for the vaccinators."
I have been advised that UHCS staff have vaccinator authorisation
certificates; vaccinators are not gazetted and there is no requirement for
them to be gazetted.
