Tēnā koe T Hayden

We are writing in regards to your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA)
request of 4 March 2026 which asks for:

I would like to request the number of staff in public relations or
communications roles at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for
2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021.

I would also like to request the number of contractors in public relations
or communications roles at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for
2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021.

This email is to advise that we will need to extend the time limit for
responding to you by 10 working days, to 17 April 2026. This is because
responding to your refined request still necessitates review of a large
quantity of information, and meeting the original time limit would
unreasonably interfere with the operations of the Ministry (section
15A(1)(a) of the OIA refers).

However, if this process is completed before 17 April 2026, the response
will be sent to you as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, you can contact us by email at: DM
[1][email address]. You have the right to seek an investigation and
review by the Ombudsman of this decision by contacting
[2]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

Ngā mihi
