I refer to your two request of February 19, 2026 with our reference
number’s  OIA262018 and OIA262019.  Your request’s were referred to
multiple department for consideration to the following questions:

 

o In the past 20 years how many reports/work request/concerns (including
reports of flooding) have been made to council in regard to the storm
water culvert that runs under the road from Sorrento Ave, and the
storm water stream where the culvert empties into between 50 and 54
Onerahi road?

 

o Documents are too large to be sent as an email attachment
o Whangarei District Council uses Kiteworks for Secure File Sharing and
is unable to send the file to FYI.org due to the settings. I am
requesting how you would prefer the files to be conveyed, given it is
not possible to respond in the same way the request was made. Do you
have a personal email address you could provide me.
o Please find attached the instructions to access the file through
kiteworks, once a different email address is supplied

 

o Could you please supply any geotechnical reports (council ordered and
reports submitted to council by the public) pertaining to land
movement and erosion between 48 Onerahi road 52 Onerahi road from the
past 20 years?

The Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act allows any
member of the public to request official information held by council.
However, for the Act to apply, the information must be held by council;
there is no obligation for council to form an opinion or create new
information simply to answer a request.  This aspect of your request is
refused under section 17(g) of the Act on the basis that it is not a
request for information held by council.

 

The material represents our best efforts to locate relevant material.
However, the search process is by no means an exact science and given the
broad scope of your request it is possible that there may be other items
of relevance that have unintentionally been missed in the search.
