Tēnā koe John Wilson

We are writing in regards to your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 31 December 2025 date which asks for:
All MFAT correspondence, briefings, emails, or notes regarding Israel’s December 2025 suspension or ban of international humanitarian organisations in Gaza, including communications with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cabinet, diplomatic posts, or international partners.

Any advice, analysis, or internal briefings on the humanitarian impact of this suspension.

Communications with third parties, including the UN, NGOs, or other governments, regarding the suspension and its impact on humanitarian access.

Any talking points, notes, or internal assessments on these matters from December 2025 to the present.

This email is to advise that we will need to extend the time limit for responding to you by 20 working days, to 13 March 2026. This is because responding to your request necessitates review of a large quantity of information, and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations of the Ministry (section 15A(1)(a) of the OIA refers) However, if this process is completed before 13 March 2026, the response will be sent to you as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, you can contact us by email at: DM [email address]. You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision by contacting http://www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/ or freephone 0800 802 602.

Dear ESD,
Thank you for your email regarding the extension. I am no longer interested in pursuing this OIA request: "Joint Statement on the Gaza Humanitarian Response."
https://fyi.org.nz/request/33399-joint-s...

Please consider the request withdrawn.

Given the time since the original statement and subsequent statements by New Zealand and other governments regarding Israel’s actions, New Zealand’s approach is evident. I do not expect this enquiry would yield anything further of significance.

Thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely,

John Wilson
