Subject: Request under the Official Information Act 1982 – Defence Agreements and NZ Support for Ukraine

Dear Ministry of Defence,

Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request disclosure of the following information from 1 January 2022 to present:

1.Records of defence agreements, partnerships, or obligations that influenced or required New Zealand to provide military support to Ukraine.

2.Documentation of any requests or communications from allied defence partners concerning NZ’s role in Ukraine.

3.Copies of ministerial briefings or Cabinet papers prepared by the Ministry of Defence that reference external defence obligations in relation to Ukraine.

Please provide this information electronically. If any part is refused, please state the grounds under section 18 of the Act.
