Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request the following information in relation to the New Zealand Customs Service’s contract with WiseTech Global, as announced on 26 August 2024:
Identification of replaced systems
The name(s) and description(s) of any software systems, databases, or platforms that the WiseTech Customs Tariff Management Portal and BorderWise Community Edition are replacing.
This includes any in-house or third-party systems previously used to manage the Working Tariff Document, tariff classification, and related processes.
Associated processes and tools
A description of the key processes, tools, or formats (e.g., paper-based, spreadsheets, PDFs, email workflows) that are being retired or superseded as part of this transition.
Integration with other systems
Details of any integration between the replaced systems and other Customs systems, such as the New Zealand Trade Single Window, and whether these integrations will continue under the new WiseTech solution.
Decommissioning plans
Any planned timelines or milestones for decommissioning the replaced systems or processes.
If any part of this request is likely to be refused under section 18(f) of the Act on the grounds of substantial collation or research, please advise me as soon as possible so I can refine the scope.
