I refer to your request of 24 August 2025. The University's response follows.

"Please provide information for applicants of the MBChB programme via general entry first year at UoA for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
1. Number of applicants"

The University has decided to provide the information requested. The number of General FY applicants for the MBChB Part II commencing in 2023, 2024, 2025 is provided below:
2023: 395
2024: 320
2025: 414

The number of General FY applicants for the MBChB Part II commencing in 2026 will be provided as soon as reasonably practicable.

"2. Number of applicants with a GPA at 8.5 or above
3. Number of applicants who received an offer with a GPA at 8.5 or above
4. Number of applicants who received an offer with a GPA at 8.5 or under"

The University does not hold, and the Official Information Act (OIA) does not require us to create, these custom statistics requested for specified GPA bands. This part of your request is refused under section 18(g) of the OIA. You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied with the University's response.

Our response of 17 October 2025 notified you that the University had decided to provide information to you under the Official Information Act; specifically, the number of General FY applicants for the MBChB Part II commencing in 2026. There were 513 eligible applicants for the MBChB Part II commencing in 2026 in the General FY category. "Eligible applicants" are those eligible for MMI selection.
