Thank you for your email of 20 August 2025 to the Ministry of Education
(the Ministry) requesting the following information:

I request the following information concerning the “Safer Water for
Schools” tender (RFx ID: 31702462) issued via GETS.

Open Date: Friday, 23 May 2025 9:30 AM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+12:00)

Close Date: Friday, 13 June 2025 5:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+12:00)

The reasons why the tender was cancelled.

Whether any information sessions were held or are planned. If not, what
actions have been taken instead, and what remains to be done?

What additional internal information requirements were being awaited while
the tender was paused.

Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act).

The Ministry released an advance notice of intended procurement activity
for the Safer Water for Schools Programme (SWSP) on 23 May 2025 via a
Registration Of Information (ROI). The ROI was an opportunity for
suppliers to register an expression of interest for the following service
areas:

o Technical Services
o Design Services
o Project Management
o Quantity Surveyor
o Construction and Implementation

The ROI was withdrawn from Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS)
following a decision by the Ministry to review the programme’s strategic
direction, including the prioritisation framework and delivery model, and
ensure that compliance outcomes are met in collaboration with the
regulatory body, Taumata Arowai.

No information sessions were held or planned in relation to this notice.

Procurement activities have now re-commenced for condition assessment
consultants and project managers. Remaining procurement activities will be
progressed over the next two months. This includes technical service,
design services, construction implementation, testing, monitoring, and
maintenance services.
