TPP Benefits

Andrew Riddell made this Official Information request to Prime Minister

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Prime Minister should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Andrew Riddell

Dear Prime Minister,

You claimed on twitter and in news reports that the TPP will be worth $2.7 billion a year to New Zealand's economy by 2030.

Please provide the report(s) that support this claim, including any calculations and/or comparisons of TPP v no TPP agreement in terms of the benefits to the economy by 2030.

I am a New Zealand citizen resident in New Zealand.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Riddell

Dear Sarah Boyle,

My official information request regarding TPP benefits is now overdue.

On 16 October you sent me a letter advising that the Prime Minister's office was transferring the information request to the Minister of Trade.

I understand that he/she had to answer my request promptly, and in any case by yesterday (November 4).

I have heard nothing from the Minister of Trade, not even an acknowledgement that the transferred request had been received.

Therefore I have to contact you to ask as a matter of urgency why my request has not been met.

Thank you
Andrew Riddell

Request tranferred to Minister of Trade. I received no answer or acknowledgement from Minister of Trade and complained to the Ombudsman on 14 November. Reply on 30 November is that Minister's office says it answered on 12 November, and closed my complaint about not receiving an answer, but also requesting the Minster of Trade to re-send the reply.

How many other people have had replies from the Minister of Trade going missing in transmission?

I lodged a complaint with the Omdubsman about no response from the Minister of Trade (PM's office transfered my request). Minister of Trade claimed had sent response within the 20wd. I told Ombudsman's office I had not received anything. Eventually Got a response from Minister of Trade's office refusing request (on grounds that info on their web site) sent to my private email address not the FYI site. I have asked the Ombudsman's office if it passed my private email address on to the Minister of Trade. Andrew Riddell
