Good afternoon John Luke,

I refer to your email of 23 July 2025 requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), information about several boards in the defence sector.

With apologies for the delay. Your request relates to five boards. Part of your request has been transferred to the Office of the Minister of Defence as two of the boards you have requested information about are more closely connected with the functions of that office. The remainder of your request has been transferred to the Office of the Minister for Veterans as three of the boards you have requested information about are more closely connected with the functions of that office. In these circumstances, section 14 of the OIA requires your request to be transferred.

You retain the right, under section 28(3) of the OIA, to ask an Ombudsman to review the decision to transfer your request.

Good afternoon John Luke,

Further to the below email, one of the boards in question (The Viet Nam Veterans and their Families Trust) is the responsibility of the Department of Internal Affairs. This is to notify you that the part of your request relating to this board is transferred to that agency, and not the Office of the Minister of Defence as previously advised.

You retain the right, under section 28(3) of the OIA, to ask an Ombudsman to review the decision to transfer your request.
